There's no place like home for Lapeer, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Carman-Ainsworth Cavaliers on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Lightning, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Lapeer was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-7, 25-7.

Allison Steffler paced Lapeer's offense, picking up 15 kills. Steffler got some help from Allison Rutledge and her 21 assists. Rutledge was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Lapeer picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-11-1. As for Carman-Ainsworth, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Lapeer will head out to square off against Powers Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Chargers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Lightning surely won't give up without a fight. Carman-Ainsworth has already played their next game (against Lapeer East), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
