Baseball Game Preview: Crescent City Raiders vs. Bronson Eagles

The Crescent City Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Bronson Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Crescent City has given up an average of 10.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Crescent City is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 21 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Lake Weir on Tuesday. They came up short against the Hurricanes, falling 31-1. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Hurricanes recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Crescent City saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Roosa, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Roosa is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bronson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over Cedar Key on Friday.

T Tucker was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was T Petrykowski, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Bronson's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Crescent City, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Crescent City has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bronson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Crescent City beat Bronson 5-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
