Basketball Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lincoln Park Academy on Thursday, Heritage came back down to earth. The Panthers lost 65-45 to the Sebastian River Sharks on Friday. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 64-58 to the Sharks when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leading Sebastian River to victory were Dontay Williams and Dallas Bruce. Williams almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine boards, while Bruce almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. Those 23 points gave Williams a new career-high. Samuel Sammartano was another key player, putting up seven points.

Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Sebastian River, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-4 record.

Heritage wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-42 defeat against Astronaut on the 8th. As for Sebastian River, they have also already played their next game, a 67-39 loss against Florida Prep on the 9th.
