Volleyball Game Preview: Hoffman Estates Hawks vs. Schaumburg Saxons

Hoffman Estates is 1-7 against Schaumburg since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Hawks will welcome the Saxons at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Hoffman Estates saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wheeling.

Hoffman Estates' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Spencer Cruz, who had 19 digs and three assists, and Nathaniel Ham, who had 16 assists. Ham is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 14 or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Meanwhile, Schaumburg also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to South Elgin by a score of 2-0.

Schaumburg's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Hoffman Estates, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Hoffman Estates couldn't quite get it done against Schaumburg when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
