Basketball Recap: Wall Eagles vs. White River Tigers

If the Wall Eagles were riding high off their 80-45 takedown of the Belle Fourche Broncs last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Wall took a serious blow against the Tigers on Thursday, falling 92-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Despite the loss, Wall saw an underclassman step up: Teelan Kjerstad scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brodi Sundall, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.

Wall's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6. As for White River, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wall won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Kougars at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Kadoka is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for White River, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Thorpes at 4:30 p.m. Pine Ridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 443 points over their last six games.
