Baseball Recap: Memphis East Comes Up Short

Memphis East lost against Kingsbury back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Memphis East fell just short of Kingsbury by a score of 12-11. The Mustangs' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Clarence Taylor was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Nathaniel, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Memphis East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Memphis East's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Kingsbury, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-4 record.

Coincidentally, Memphis East and Kingsbury will both be playing Craigmont the next time they take the field. Memphis East will head out to face Craigmont at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while Kingsbury will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
