Preview: Yale Bulldogs vs. Okeene Whippets
The Yale Bulldogs are on the road again on Friday and play against the Okeene Whippets at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Yale walked away with it. They blew past Keota 52-30. The result was nothing new for Yale, who have now won six games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Yale got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cornelius Prather out in front who threw for 221 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Conner Elliott was another key contributor, picking up 144 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Okeene faced Laverne in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Okeene came out on top against Laverne by a score of 46-36 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Okeene.
Yale's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Okeene, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
