Preview: Holyoke Purple Knights vs. Longmeadow Lancers
Holyoke is 2-8 against Longmeadow since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Holyoke Purple Knights just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Longmeadow Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Holyoke is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-34, which was the final score in Holyoke's tilt against Central on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Holyoke has suffered against Central since February 14, 2019.
Meanwhile, Longmeadow didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Leominster on January 3rd, but they still walked away with a 58-52 win.
Holyoke's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Longmeadow, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Holyoke came up short against Longmeadow in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 64-56. Can Holyoke avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
