Basketball Recap: Lucas Mulganon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Animas over Reserve

Animas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 30th straight defeat dating back to last season. The contest between them and the Reserve Mountaineers didn't end well, with the Animas Panthers falling 46-27. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-40 two weeks ago.

Animas' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Mulganon, who posted four points in addition to eight boards and four blocks. Corey Terrell also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Animas' defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Reserve, they moved to 3-12 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Animas didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-38 loss against Quemado on the 1st. Reserve has also already played their next matchup, an 84-48 defeat against Cliff on the 1st.
