Softball Recap: Buchholz Takes a Loss

Buchholz was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-8 to the Bartram Trail Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 two weeks ago.

Juliana Abraham was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Cooper, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Buchholz's record now sits at 10-9. As for Bartram Trail, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Buchholz and Bartram Trail could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Bobcats will face off against Santa Fe at 7:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (194 vs. 12). Meanwhile, Bartram Trail (ranked 112th) will meet Baker County (ranked 15th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
