Basketball Game Preview: Pierce Bluejays vs. Arlington Eagles

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Bluejays take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pierce has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Pierce is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against O'Neill on Tuesday as Pierce made off with a 59-39 win. The Bluejays have beaten the Eagles the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Arlington entered their tilt with Wayne on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Blue Devils 53-39.

Arlington's win came from a few key players Pierce will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Britt Nielsen, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds. Her evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Timm, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Arlington pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points over those games. As for Pierce, their win bumped their record up to 18-7.
