Volleyball Recap: Fillmore Central Panthers vs. Sutton Mustangs

After flying high against Lawrence-Nelson last Tuesday, Fillmore Central came back down to earth. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Sutton Mustangs on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Saturday.

The final score came out to 25-6, 25-18, 25-16.

Sutton can attribute much of their success to Kyla Griess, who had 12 digs and three aces. Griess is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Fillmore Central's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Sutton, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fillmore Central will face off against Fairbury at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sutton, they will take on Thayer Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
