Softball Recap: Monticello Comes Up Short

Monticello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-2 to the Delano Tigers. If the Magic were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Tigers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Monticello saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josi Ordorff, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Kiana Pegues was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Delano, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Coming up, Monticello will face off against Chisago Lakes Area at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Delano, they will challenge Southwest Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stars have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
