Softball Game Preview: Bandera BULLDOGS vs. El Campo Ricebirds

The Bandera BULLDOGS will face off against the El Campo Ricebirds at 12:50 p.m. on Thursday. Bandera will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Bandera is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Hondo by a score of 12-10 on Tuesday.

Preslee Jade made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Cerissa Fernandez, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Bandera was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hondo only posted a batting average of .265.

Meanwhile, El Campo didn't have quite enough to beat Sealy on Tuesday and fell 8-7.

El Campo saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riannah Miles, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Bandera's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-3. As for El Campo, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2-1.

Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bandera hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having got 0 of their hits per game. However, it's not like El Campo struggles in that department as they've got 0 of their hits this season.
