The Southwest SD Raiders will face off against the Chula Vista Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Southwest SD will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Southwest SD barely beat Castle Park the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Trojans on Thursday. Considering the Raiders have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Sebestian Martinez made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Southwest SD is 6-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-8-1 otherwise. Martinez was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Dario Zepeda was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Roberto Echeverria was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Chula Vista came up short against Mar Vista on Thursday, falling 18-4.
Chula Vista saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eric Zepeda, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Another was Isaiah Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Southwest SD has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Chula Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10-2.
Southwest SD was able to grind out a solid victory over Chula Vista when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 5-2. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
