Soccer Game Preview: Chavez vs. Chatsworth

The Chavez Eagles will challenge the Chatsworth Chancellors at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chavez is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Chavez is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Dr. Maya Angelou Community a 2-0 shutout.

Jesus Palafox and Jose Aviles scored both of Chavez's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 32 goals.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Chatsworth ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Granada Hills Charter 2-1. Chatsworth haven't had any issues with Granada Hills Charter recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Chavez's victory bumped their record up to 19-2-2. As for Chatsworth, their win bumped their record up to 10-8-5.

Chavez was able to grind out a solid victory over Chatsworth when the teams last played back in December of 2025, winning 2-0. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Chancellors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
