Softball Recap: West End Has No Trouble Against Victory Christian

West End won against Glencoe last Tuesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Patriots blew past the Victory Christian Lions 12-0. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Emma Franklin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Kennedi Nix was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Kayla Dixon was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

West End hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.

West End's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Victory Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

West End wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-0 win against Gaston on the 11th. As for Victory Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-1 defeat against Randolph County on the 11th.
