Baseball Recap: Canajoharie Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

Canajoharie's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Galway Golden Eagles as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Aiden Bowerman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. Bowerman was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nicholas Barlow, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Cody Hyney was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Canajoharie has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Galway, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Canajoharie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Galway, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 13-3 defeat against Cobleskill-Richmondville on the 17th.
