Carlsbad came up short against Artesia on Tuesday, falling 3-0.
The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-13, 25-13.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chaparral, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past Gadsden 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lobos have posted since November 2, 2024.
Chaparral got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-19, 28-30, 18-25, 15-13.
Chaparral's win came from a few key players Carlsbad will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Diana Valenzuela, who had 46 digs and one assist. What's more, she posted two kills, the most she's had over her last two matches. Another player making a difference was Abrianna Moreno, who had 20 digs.
Chaparral's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Carlsbad, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
