Softball Recap: Community Trojans vs. Slater Wildcats
After only two runs in their last matchup, Community made sure to put some runs up on the board against Slater on Tuesday. The Community Trojans were the clear victor by a 14-8 margin over the Slater Wildcats. The Trojans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Community got a massive performance out of Rylee Rafferty, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-6. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelyn Kuda, who went 4-for-5 with three doubles, two runs, and an RBI.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .442. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The win got Community back to even at 2-2. As for Slater, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
Community will face off against Paris at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Slater, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Higbee at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are at an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2015, but likely not for long.
