Great Hearts Northern Oaks came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 12-11 W against the Lutheran Mustangs. That's two games straight that the Griffins have won by just one run.

Rhett Elliot made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Elliot was even better at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Elliot wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mathias Garcia, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Garcia has posted since back in April of 2024.

Great Hearts Northern Oaks' record now sits at 7-3. As for Lutheran, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 8-6 record.

Coming up, Great Hearts Northern Oaks will host Non Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lutheran, they will head out on the road to face off against Live Oak Classical at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lutheran is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
