Softball Recap: Cardinal Comes Up Short

After flying high against Harding on Thursday, Cardinal came back down to earth. The Huskies came up short against the Pymatuning Valley Lakers on Monday, falling 15-3. The loss continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Lakers: they've now lost four in a row.

Cardinal saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Pleva, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Aallyah Barber also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Cardinal's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Pymatuning Valley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cardinal will challenge rival St. John at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Pymatuning Valley is set to take on their familiar foe Grand Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
