Softball Recap: Ridgemont Comes Up Short

Ridgemont lost to Ada back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Golden Gophers came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 11-1. The Golden Gophers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Braylyn Caldwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and nine unearned) runs on 12 hits.

At the plate, Ridgemont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrie Overly, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Overly has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played.

Ridgemont's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Ada, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.

Looking ahead, Ridgemont will welcome Hardin Northern at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Polar Bears will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Golden Gophers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ada, they will head out to take on Lincolnview at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 2.6, the Lancers 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
