Basketball Recap: Ian Sterrett's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Liberty Christian over Alamance Christian

Liberty Christian fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Alamance Christian on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 100-92 to the Alamance Christian Warriors. It was the first time this season that the Patriots let down their fans at home.

Liberty Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ian Sterrett, who posted 36 points in addition to six steals and five assists. The matchup was Sterrett's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakeem Bradford, who earned 29 points along with six boards and five assists.

Liberty Christian's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-5. As for Alamance Christian, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.

Liberty Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-33 win against Raleigh HomeSchool on the 16th. Alamance Christian has also already played their next contest, a 76-19 victory against Hawbridge on the 17th.
