Basketball Recap: Anderson Prep Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Southern Wells

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Anderson Prep Academy). They blew past the Southern Wells Raiders 82-45 on Tuesday. The Jets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Anderson Prep Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zamarion Bryant led the charge by going 10-for-16 on his way to 21 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Those five assists gave Bryant a new career-high. Markus McClain was another key player, going 12-for-20 to rack up 27 points.

Bryant wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Anderson Prep Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southern Wells only racked up four assists.

Southern Wells lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Landon Johnson, who went 5-for-9 en route to 15 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Trey Slusher, who posted nine points and six boards.

Anderson Prep Academy's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points over those games. As for Southern Wells, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anderson Prep Academy will take on Randolph Southern at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southern Wells, they will challenge North Miami at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Southern Wells is facing North Miami at the right time seeing as North Miami is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
