Baseball Recap: Milford Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Herscher typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Milford proved too difficult a challenge. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bearcats also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Not much got past Beau Wright, who gave up just three hits to keep Herscher off the board. Wright also tossed no walks, which is notable because Milford is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 10-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Milford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Janssen, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Milford has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-15 record this season. As for Herscher, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 28-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milford will host Oakwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bearcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Comets have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Herscher, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln-Way West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
