Basketball Game Preview: Bridgeport Bearcats vs. Freeland Falcons

The Bridgeport Bearcats will square off against the Freeland Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bridgeport is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Bridgeport ended up a good deal behind Garber and lost 49-35. The matchup marked the Bearcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Freeland's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 70-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glenn. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bobcats 18-10 in the first quarter.

Bridgeport will need focus on slowing down Tristan Comer, one of several Freeland players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Comer's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tucker Hileman, who posted 12 points and seven assists.

Freeland's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-2. As for Bridgeport, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Bridgeport was taken down by Freeland 61-31 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Bridgeport avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
