Softball Recap: Weston Ranch Gets the Win

Weston Ranch's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the McNair Eagles 9-8. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 back in March.

Treshia Garcia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. Garcia was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Cianna Avamolifua was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Baylee Santiago, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Weston Ranch's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10. As for McNair, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Weston Ranch will face off against rival Bear Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, McNair is set to take on their familiar foe Tokay at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
