Baseball Recap: Rock Falls Triumphs

The Rock Falls Rockets beat the Fulton Steamers 6-2 on Wednesday. That's two games straight that the Rockets have won by exactly four runs.

Rock Falls saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Hunter, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Hunter is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Rock Falls and bumps their season record up to 12-15-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Fulton, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rock Falls will challenge Winnebago at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fulton, they will take on Erie-Prophetstown at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
