Basketball Recap: Mount Academy Finds Home Court Redemption Against Chapel Field Christian

There's no place like home for Mount Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They strolled past the Chapel Field Christian Lions with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 62-45. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Lions are ranked 884th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mount Academy had a senior duo take command as Jake Maendel dropped a double-double with 31 points and 14 rebounds and Dennis Hofer dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Maendel has scored at least a third of Mount Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Dominic Meier, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Mount Academy's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Chapel Field Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
