Soccer Game Preview: Manhattan vs. Hays

Manhattan will venture away from home to challenge Hays on Saturday.

Manhattan came up short against Washburn Rural on Wednesday, falling 8-1. Manhattan haven't had much luck with Washburn Rural recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Meanwhile, Hays faced Liberal in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Indians blew past the Redskins 6-2. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Hays' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Hays now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Manhattan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Everything went Manhattan's way against Hays in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Manhattan made off with a 5-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Manhattan since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
