Soccer Game Preview: Maiden vs. Newton-Conover

The Maiden Blue Devils will head out to challenge the Newton-Conover Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Maiden's offense. They fell just short of West Lincoln by a score of 1-0 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Newton-Conover also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Cape Fear Academy on Saturday, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for Newton-Conover seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Newton-Conover's loss dropped their record down to 10-5-2. As for Maiden, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5-2.

Maiden couldn't quite get it done against Newton-Conover when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-2. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
