After flying high against St. Francis last Friday, Notre Dame (SO) came back down to earth. The Knights fell 29-23 to the Servite Friars on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Friars: they've now lost three in a row.

Notre Dame (SO)'s loss came despite strong showings from Noel Washington and Wyatt Brown. Washington gained 59 total yards and two touchdowns, while Brown threw for 177 yards and one touchdown. 83 of those passing yards were hauled in by Emmanuel Pullins.

Notre Dame (SO) didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Maxwell Martin-Beckmann and Tahj Skinner. Martin-Beckmann also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 16.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Gavin Gutierrez and Steele Holcomb. Gutierrez rushed for 202 yards and a pair of TDs while Holcomb rushed for 71 yards and two scores on only eight carries. Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notre Dame (SO) will head out to challenge Culver City at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. After each having a week off, Servite and St. Paul will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. The Friars will be up against the Swordsmen's rather soft defense (which has allowed 46.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
