Softball Recap: Chico Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

While Chico put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Enterprise. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Hornets. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Olivia Murphy, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Babler, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Chico was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Chico has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Enterprise, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chico will welcome Foothill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.8, the Cougars 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Enterprise, they will host Anderson at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets are facing the Cubs at the right time seeing as the Cubs are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
