Baseball Game Preview: Randolph Ro-Hawks vs. Hondo Owls

The Randolph Ro-Hawks will take on the Hondo Owls at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Schulenburg hit Randolph with a four-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Ro-Hawks took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shorthorns. The Ro-Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Hondo entered their tilt with Orange Grove on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Bulldogs.

Josiah Quintanilla was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Quintanilla wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rudy Alvarado, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Randolph now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Hondo, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Randolph has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hondo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
