Baseball Recap: Moreno Valley Gets the Win

Moreno Valley owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Orange Vista Coyotes. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Coyotes: they've now won five in a row.

Moreno Valley's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was M. Ramirez, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Ramirez has become a key player for the Vikings: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-5 otherwise.

Moreno Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Orange Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Moreno Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Coyotes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
