Baseball Recap: Heritage Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Heritage won the last time they faced Loudon and things went their way on Sunday too. The Mountaineers came out on top against the Redskins by a score of 7-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Gaven French was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braden Cooper, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 11 matches. Logan Hong also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Loudon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-18.

Heritage has already played their next contest (against Lenoir City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Loudon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
