Baseball Recap: Elkhart's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

Elkhart won the last time they faced Northridge and things went their way on Saturday too. The Lions came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 8-4.

Greg Guest made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady Sherwood, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Adrian Pettis, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Elkhart's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-4. As for Northridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkhart will take on Penn at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 3.4, the Kingsmen 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Northridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Plymouth at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. The Pilgrims/Rockies will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
