Football Recap: Samarion Woods and Robert Lytle Secure Win for Selma + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fairfield, Selma was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Montevallo Bulldogs with a sharp 36-10 victory. The Saints not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 30, 2024 (when they won 42-8).

Leading Selma to victory were Robert Lytle and Samarion Woods. Lytle rushed for 115 yards, while Woods threw for 69 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Lytle has posted since back in October of 2024.

Selma's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Montevallo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coincidentally, Selma and Montevallo will both be playing Shelby County the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will host the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Saints will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
