Austin and Northfield are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Packers will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Austin is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Austin didn't have quite enough to beat Albert Lea and fell 6-5.

John Rollie was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. Rollie was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That run marked the first that he scored this season.

In other batting news, Casey Denzer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Noah Dunlap, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Northfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Red Wing by a score of 4-3. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Northfield, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Austin suffered a grim 15-3 defeat to Northfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Packers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
