Softball Game Preview: Ellington Whippets vs. Arcadia Valley Tigers

The Ellington Whippets will head out on the road to take on the Arcadia Valley Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Arcadia Valley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Ellington, who comes in off a win.

Ellington took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Scott County Central 14-4. The high-scoring effort was just what the Whippets needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Meanwhile, Arcadia Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against West County, falling 13-0.

The win got Ellington back to even at 1-1. As for Arcadia Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Ellington skirted past Arcadia Valley 6-5 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ellington since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
