Preview: Massapequa Chiefs vs. Freeport Red Devils
Massapequa has been on the road for two straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Freeport Red Devils at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Two weeks ago, Massapequa came up short against Hempstead and fell 64-55.
Meanwhile, Freeport ended up a good deal behind Farmingdale on Wednesday and lost 72-57. Freeport has struggled against Farmingdale recently, as their match on Wednesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Defeat or not, Freeport got some senior leadership from Latrell Tucker and Elijah Darby. Tucker dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Darby. scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tucker has scored all season.
Massapequa's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Freeport, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Massapequa took their win against Freeport in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 52-30. Does Massapequa have another victory up their sleeve, or will Freeport turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
