Baseball Recap: Kennedy Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Kennedy dropped their record down to 21-10 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Farragut Admirals, falling 11-5. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Admirals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Alec Mendoza made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Luke Zavala was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

As for Farragut, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.

On Farragut's side, Gio Bahena-Perez was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Nico Roman, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Looking ahead, Kennedy will challenge Hillcrest at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.71 runs per game on average), something the Crusaders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Farragut, they will take on Hancock at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
