Softball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Midland Valley's 11th in Last 12 Outings

The Midland Valley Mustangs made easy work of the Dutch Fork Silver Foxes on Wednesday and carried off a 19-9 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Addison Haltiwanger, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Seabolt, who got on base in two of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Midland Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive contests.

Midland Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Dutch Fork, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12.

Coming up, Midland Valley will head out to square off against Ninety Six at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dutch Fork, they will be playing at home against Wando at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
