Softball Recap: Absegami's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

While Absegami put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Pennsauken. The Braves put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 16-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Braves as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meghan Johansen and Makenzie Morrison were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Johansen pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Morrison pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, Johansen went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI, while Morrison went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Absegami got a massive performance out of Kali Jorgensen, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most hits Jorgensen has posted since back in May of 2025. Audreyanna Phillips was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Absegami always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Absegami's victory bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Pennsauken, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-19.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Absegami will head out to challenge Washington Township at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pennsauken, they will venture away from home to take on Winslow Township at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
