Volleyball Recap: Grandview Takes a Loss

Grandview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Herculaneum Black Cats, falling 3-0. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Black Cats from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While Grandview was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Herculaneum's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-15, 25-17.

Chloe Emerson paced Grandview's offense, picking up five kills. Emerson got some help from Lacey Brown and her seven assists. Izzy Brinkley controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Grandview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Herculaneum, their victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 7-15-5.

Grandview has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against St. Paul Lutheran on the 14th. As for Herculaneum, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against DeSoto on the 14th.
