Football Game Preview: Kennedy Commanders vs. Hinkley Thunder + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Kennedy will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on the Hinkley Thunder at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Kennedy is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Highlands Ranch two weeks ago (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Commanders took a blow against the Falcons, falling 34-6. The Commanders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

Kennedy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Xavier Benavidez and Urijah Garcia. Benavidez is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made nine or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Hinkley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 60-0 to Kent Denver, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Hinkley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Kennedy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Kennedy against Hinkley in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 53-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Commanders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
