Football Game Preview: West Philadelphia Speedboys vs. Cardinal O'Hara Lions + How To Watch

The West Philadelphia Speedboys will square off against the Cardinal O'Hara Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Two weeks ago, West Philadelphia didn't have too much trouble with Collingswood as they won 21-6. The Speedboys pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

West Philadelphia got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was A'Kar Archer out in front who picked up 119 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 119 receiving yards gave Archer a new career-high. Ahmeir Green was another key passer, throwing for 269 yards and a pair of TDs.

West Philadelphia didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. Archer picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Cardinal O'Hara had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic with a sharp 24-3 win on Saturday. Considering the Lions have won five matchups by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Cardinal O'Hara and bumps their season record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points over those games. As for West Philadelphia, their record is now 4-5.
