Football Game Preview: Myrtle Hawks vs. Walnut Wildcats + How To Watch

The Myrtle Hawks will take on the Walnut Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Myrtle took a 42-point defeat the last time they faced off against Vardaman, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hawks skirted past the Rams 18-15.

Colton Gordon was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 66 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Walnut beat Alcorn Central 20-14 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

The victory got Walnut back to even at 2-2. As for Myrtle, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Myrtle might still be hurting after the 30-8 loss they got from Walnut in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Thankfully for the Hawks, Kemarrian Gray (who rushed for 112 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
