Baseball Game Preview: Denton Broncos vs. Crowley Eagles

For the second straight game, Denton will face off against Crowley. The Broncos are taking a road trip to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Denton is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since March 7th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Crowley by a score of 7-5. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Denton got a good showing from Jordan Gonzales, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Gonzales hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Derek Perez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Ryker DeLong was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Denton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15-2 record this season. As for Crowley, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 11-19.
